Where should the garden pond be located? - Location somewhat depends on what you plan to do with the pond, and/or what type of plants you want to grow. Location may also vary depending on whether or not you want to clean it all the time, or deal with a lot of algae. My pond is unfortunately located under a big tree, and a few walnut trees nearby also. This creates a mess when the walnuts start falling off the trees, many end up in the pond. As far fall, when the leaves drop from the trees, this also creates a mess. I generally setup netting over the pond for a few months until the leaves are done falling. Failure to do so could cause a disaster in the pond and possibly kill off your fish if not treated. My pond generally gets a few hours of sun light a day. This causes some plants to do good, others to not do so well.
Should I get fish for my garden pond?- A pond to me isn’t a pond without fish and wildlife. It’s really up to you whether or not you would like fish in your pond. Some things to consider are predators in the area, how much time you want to put into maintaining a healthy pond, etc. One of the problems I have sometimes is racoons hopping my fence and swimming in the
